So I took my Lamborghini Huracan in for service on the tires and went ahead and did my first Oil change... Decided to do a video on it for those folks out there thinking about getting a Lambo.

I was being a little dramatic for YouTube but some fun stuff with a car show I went to and met Valentino Balboni and saw a bunch of Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

Honestly, 500 seems like a really good deal. I mean Mercedes used to be 350 at the dealer, and once the warranty ran out, I'd have an indy do it for 100. But for this car, if I could have my dealer do it for 500, I'd do it all day long. Where I live, they want well over a grand for the first service.

Lol what a ripoff. An oil change on these cars is under $200 at a good Indy. I would never pay $500 for an oil change. That's just ridiculous.

Was your car still under warranty? I know they can't void the warranty just because I get my oil changes done elsewhere. It's illegal to do so. But I"m still so worried about it. Here's more details from the FTC:

https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0138-auto-warranties-routine-maintenance

I get comments from non-owners like, "Well if you can afford that car, then you should be able to afford the oil change."

But I feel like just because I paid for the car, doesn't mean I should have to bend over for a $1400 oil change. Am I wrong in my thinking? I think many of us made ourselves in a position to buy these cars by NOT just throwing away money like that.

So true, I use coupons at fast food places:D
But I have already resolved to having my first one done at a dealer. They are suppose to do more than just change the oil. Plus my local had a deal for half price. Hopefully they will still do that when I go next year.

Here in the UK, if you take a ~£190k Huracan to an indy for its first service, it can devalue significantly the car's resale price. You may save £1k by using an independent garage, but it could devalue the car by £2-5k, or make it much harder to sell on.

Somewhat irrational, of course, because many indys are better than official dealers. But that's what the market wants -- official Lambo stamps in your Lambo service book.

Your video pained me. You didn't know the difference between an F40 and F50???

Sorry for your pain... I'm not a Ferrari guy so I really don't sit around studying all of the models over the years. I did the video for fun. I'm not a full time car historian or full time YouTuber.

Lol, I didn't see the video but I feel your pain when someone misidentifies a car in a car based forum.

I'd like to hear from current owners regarding the cost of their first new car service at the dealer as well subsequent fluid changes at the dealer ?

Yea I remember the first time I saw a testarossa (did I spell that wrong too?) up close.... I thought to myself, this thing has the build quality of a basic corvette... And even with the modern 458s the exterior looks about like the build quality of a corvette but yea interior is cooler and engines seem to be where they put all the money, but I'd take a 488 if someone gave me one :D

IMO the 430 is awesome, 458 is an ok car, not worth the money, 488 is great, but also not as great as a Huracan. Intereior kind of plain on these cars, and exterior doesn't look at raw and cool....But the La Ferrari, F40, F50, super bad ass!

Yes I will say that LaFerrari would be on my top 5 cars list.
