Best Chinese Cars 2018
Best Selling Cars Models ranking in China up to July 2021. The Nissan Sylphy maintains the leadership, followed by the Haval H6, while the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV reaches 4th place.
The Chinese new vehicles market is the largest in the World and is characterized by a very low concentration of sales in the top models. Indeed the top 10 model sales represent only 17.5% of the market, while the top 50 represent 49.6% and the top 100 the 70.3%.
The best-seller in the period 2010-2015 was always a light commercial, the Wuling Hongguang, which is utilized both a minibus and eight-seat MPV. Since 2017 the leadership was in the hands of the Volkswagen Lavida, a compact sedan, which in 2019 reached a peak of 2.4% market share.
Up to July 2021, the Nissan Sylphy maintains the leadership it regained in September 2020 with 293,230 sales YTD (2.5% market share), followed by the Haval H6 -up 3 spots-, which sold 222,431 units (1.9% share), followed by the Toyota Corolla with 215,765 units (1.8% share).
Rising in fourth place there is the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV with 209,674 sales (1.8% share) followed by the Volkswagen Lavida -down 3 spots- with 203,757 units (1.7% share), the Changan CS75 -up 1 spot- with 194,178 sales (1.6% share), the Volkswagen Bora -down 3 spots- with 162,202 (1.4% share), and the Toyota Levin -up 4 spots- with 153,482 units sold (1.3% share).
In ninth place, the Honda CR-V -up 6 spots- ended up with 143,421 sales (1.2% share), and in 10th place the Volkswagen Sagitar -down 4 spots- with 142,266 sales (1.2% share).
