2009 FX Cruiser SHO Overheat Warning - Help!

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the Forum - did a heap of searches but so far not finding anything that will help me, so perhaps a few of you good people could chime in and give me a hand...

I live in Malawi, Africa, and I have a 2009 Waverunner FX Cruiser SHO (1800 Supercharged) with around 70 hours on the clock. Two weekends ago, I took it out on the lake, and after cruising for about 40mins to some nearby islands, the Warning Light & Buzzer sounded on my craft, and the Engine Overheat indicator on the guage cluster flashed. Rev's dropped to around 3,300rpm and i had to limp to a dock on the island. Let it cool for 20mins or so, and then left the island back to shore, and had no issues going back. Strangely during all this, water was spraying from the 2 pissers on the left side so i figured it must be OK. Got it home and ran the YDS Diagnostics on it, no errors showing up at all as current (but it did show a record of Error 252 Overheat Warning at around 42hrs, with its previous owner. I purchased this craft at around 60hrs). In fact, a weekend or two before this episode, i had the SHO out on the lake for like 6 days straight with 50 to 60km journeys on it daily and no issues or problems at all...

Then last weekend i took it out again, same lake, to the same islands. Halfway there, maybe 20mins into the lake, same Warning Buzzer. Turned around, and limped back to the docks. Pulled the craft out the water, and dismantled the jetpump to check the strainer sieve. All clear. Did an engine flush with the hose, all clear and no problem with the pissers, both working normally. Ran the YDS Diagnostics again, and nothing came up as error codes. All this and its still giving me this bloody Overheat Warning when im back in the water...

Anyone got any more ideas on what i could check? Im stumped, and really stressed coz i can't figure out what could be causing this.

Some help would be gratefully appreciated!

Regards,
Owen
